"Making Shroom for Her" is a transformative women's empowerment program that breaks down barriers of gender inequality by equipping women with essential trade skills in mushroom cultivation. We believe that every woman deserves the opportunity to establish her own business, achieve financial independence, and foster social equality. Just as we make ‘shroom’ for growth, we make room for her to thrive. 🌱

🌱 What We’ve Done So Far

With your support, Boon has already:

Built a mushroom house in Iganga for a women’s group.
Trained women in mushroom cultivation and launched their first business.
Provided gardens to help them start production.

These first steps have proven what’s possible: women are growing mushrooms, generating income, and beginning to save for their families.

The Challenge

Right now, every new garden (starter bag) must be transported six hours from Kampala. Transport alone costs over 500,000 UGX per trip — cutting deeply into profits and limiting growth.

The Next Step: The Boon Garden Hub

We are raising $40,000 to establish the Boon Garden Production Hub & Women’s Empowerment Center in Iganga.

This hub will:
✅ Lower costs for women’s mushroom groups by up to 40% each cycle
✅ Produce gardens locally instead of sourcing from Kampala
✅ Train new women entrepreneurs to launch mushroom businesses
✅ Create reinvestment funds through micro-loans for future women-led agriculture start-ups
