The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Foundation proudly partners with Gateway Technical College, University of Wisconsin Parkside, Carthage College and Herzing University to increase college access to students of color. Each year, the fund offers a variety of college scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors from the Kenosha Unified School District, St. Joseph Catholic Academy, Christian Life Academy, Shoreland Lutheran High School, KTEC High School, Racine Unified School District (RUSD) High Schools, The Prairie School, St. Catherine’s High School and Racine Lutheran High School, which are presented at the annual Reaching for Rainbows “Pursuit of Excellence” Gala.

In addition to awarding college scholarships, the Shebaniah B. Muhammad Signature Award and the Dr. Bryan Albrecht Living Legend Award are both presented to select individuals who have each shown a lifetime of leadership and commitment in support of Kenosha area Youth, as well as a dedicated and sustained investment toward the success of our mission.

Proceeds from the Reaching for Rainbows "Pursuit of Excellence" Gala support our CEO mentoring program, where our overarching goal continues to focus on academic achievement, college readiness career success, and service to others while reducing the financial barriers impacting access and affordability for our first-generation students. To date, we have awarded nearly 400 college scholarships to deserving Kenosha County youth.
