Theatre Roscius is an independent, Los Angeles-based experimental performance art / physical theatre and research company founded on the simple idea that stories must be shared. That the simple act of sharing, when individuals gather to explore the many facets of being human, ultimately reveals our hidden similarities, and people otherwise easily mistaken for strangers, foreigners, or outcasts, when put together in one room, can find they have always known one another. Theatre Roscius aims to create innovative, relevant, and compassionate theatre.

Theatre Roscius is celebrating our tenth anniversary. We hope we can have your support to continue building new and original projects that take time to build yet reflect and focus on the issues and lives of women in our community.

During our eleven years, we have created over fifteen original works in different mediums such as short films, physical theatre, and physical art installations.

In our tenth year, we were in residency at the Getty Villa Theatre Lab and the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York as we explored and developed our new play Medea Refracted. This summer, we will continue to expand our physical repertoire by training with Teatr ZAR in Poland; a revolutionary physical and musical ensemble, and this Fall to Japan to train with the Suzuki Company of Toga.

To start our 2024 season we are also collaborating with The California Black Women’s Health Project to produce The Money Diaries: A Physical + Financial Wellness Workshop, a free community workshop series in Los Angeles beginning February 10th-24th. The donations we receive from you will allow us to continue to expand upon our free Financial and Physical Wellness Workshop series for women.

We are asking for your support to help fund the projects listed above, including a full production premiere of Medea Refracted in the Fall of 2025, as well as our new Fine Arts exhibit Period/Periodt, and our new Super 8 short film + Fine Art Exhibition + Live Performance And Then They Swallowed Their Pain for a Summer 2024 release.
