The Neil G. Shastri Foundation (NGS) was established by the family and friends of Neil Shastri, a victim in the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001.

In the days following the loss of our beloved brother, son, husband, cousin, grandson, colleague and friend, we resolved to honor Neil’s memory by carrying on his legacy. Neil was thoughtful and wise beyond his years, destined to do great things. Though his life was tragically cut short, his spirit endures through the NGS Foundation, which strives to make a meaningful difference in underrepresented communities through educational and community service initiatives. It stands as a tribute to Neil’s unwavering hope for a more compassionate and equitable world, ensuring that his light shines on through every student we uplift and every cause we champion.

This year our goal is to continue to build and expand upon our initiatives. We aim to raise additional funds toward our new Rutgers Future Scholars Program endowment, distribute even more books to underprivileged Title 1 schools, strengthen our collaboration with The Community Food Bank of NJ via both donation and volunteerism, and continue our annual tradition of distributing scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors at Midland Park High School.
