Join the Library Foundation for the second annual Night at the Library, a high-energy evening bringing together Louisville’s thought leaders and library champions to support the future of our public library.

This year’s theme, From Page to Plate, celebrates the library as a vital third place, a welcoming hub for learning, creativity, and connection, inspired by the Louisville Free Public Library’s inaugural Yes, Chef! Chef-in-Residence program. Together, we’ll explore a powerful parallel: food as a third place and a catalyst for storytelling, cultural preservation, and community-building.

Enjoy a buffet-style roving dinner and close-up demonstrations and interaction with an exciting slate of local chefs from LFPL’s first chef residency cohort. The evening will culminate in an exclusive conversation with James Beard Award-winning chef JJ Johnson, author of The Simple Art of Rice and co-author of the book Between Harlem and Heaven.
