Our community is coming together for our dear friend Nita.

Nita is the heart behind Dog Heaven and someone whose life has been rooted in service. Through her nonprofit work, she has dedicated herself to helping both people and animals, creating a place where compassion isn’t simply something talked about, it’s something lived.

Now, Nita needs her village.

Nita was recently diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer and has begun navigating a journey none of us ever wanted to see her face. As treatments, appointments, everyday expenses, and the realities of living with cancer begin to take up space in her life, we want Nita to be able to focus as much of her energy as possible on herself, her healing, and the people and animals she loves.

Ahavah Gardens, alongside friends, partners, and members of our greater community, is creating Nita’s Village to surround her with practical and financial support throughout this chapter.

Funds raised through this campaign and our accompanying community fundraisers will help ease the financial burden surrounding Nita’s cancer journey and provide support where it is most needed as her circumstances evolve.

But this campaign is about more than money.

It is about showing someone who has spent so much of her life caring for others that she does not have to walk through this alone.

Over the coming months, we will be hosting fundraising events, community gatherings, collaborations, and other opportunities to rally around Nita. We’ll share those here along with updates and ways you can participate.
