BLK South is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the healing and vibrancy of historic African American communities in the South. Through a process of reverse migration, we’re returning to places that once held our people in chains to now co-create spaces of cultural restoration, economic flourishing, and sacred storytelling.

Founded by Kendall and Erin Dooley, BLK South responds to the Spirit’s invitation to reclaim the South as sacred—through community development, arts and cultural preservation, education, and healing justice.

We believe Black communities hold the wisdom, power, and creativity to shape a more beautiful future. That’s why we partner with local organizations, churches, artists, and leaders to restore identity, preserve heritage, and nurture holistic well-being in under-resourced neighborhoods.
