You may have seen the headlines: journalism is facing a devastating, industry-wide decline in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. NKY thrives is not exempt.

We need your help to continue our critical work.

Our content has always been free. For the first time, we’re asking for support from subscribers, readers, and friends like you.

Staff across our parent company, including our co-founders, have taken pay cuts. At the beginning of April, we were forced to furlough most of our freelance writers and photographers.

Your support will help put the NKY thrives local journalism team back to work. All donations will stay in the local community.

We’re confident we’ll recover by late summer if you can help us weather this short-term storm with our one-month campaign.

Now is the time for more local journalism, not less. COVID-19 has laid bare the vulnerability of many Northern Kentucky communities--low-income neighborhoods, communities of color, students, seniors, gig economy and shift workers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. As the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati region moves from emergency to recovery, we need journalists who can report with nuance and care. These are the stories NKY thrives has centered on since 2011.

NKY Thrives - COVID-19 Local News Fund is a program administered by Local Media Foundation, tax ID #36‐4427750, a Section 501(c)(3) charitable trust affiliated with Local Media Association. LMF is raising funds for educational activities; specifically, to educate the public on COVID-19 issues. LMF is providing funds to this news organization and many others to support this important educational project. All money raised by this effort will go directly to support COVID-19 reporting, to make sure the public has essential facts on this important topic.
