Flood Relief for Noto Peninsula

After a devastating earthquake on New Years Day 2024, Western New Yorkers came together to support our friends in Ishikawa Prefecture and the Noto Peninsula nearby Buffalo's sister city of Kanazawa. Unfortunately, in late September, the same regions were affected by record rains, causing unprecedented flooding and landslides that displaced many from their temporary accommodations.

As the lesser-known of the double disasters that struck Noto in 2024, there remains a great need to provide financial support for those affected. We call upon you once more to extend your caring heart and resources. Your vital contributions will provide essential aid, help restore services, and support those who have endured so much.

JapanWNY will be collecting donations at this year's Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival and contributing a portion of the proceeds from our fundraising table to this cause.

100% of funds collected will go to the government-designated Ishikawa Prefecture Relief Fund for the 2024 Noto Torrential Rain Disaster (石川県令和6年能登豪雨災害義援金) .
