The NC Healthcare Foundation has activated its Disaster Relief Fund to launch Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief: Phase Two. Thank you to those of you who gave in the fall of 2024 in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene when we launched Phase One of this effort. Because of you and your generosity, the Foundation raised over $258,000 and disbursed the first round of funds to 350 healthcare workers affected by Hurricane Helene. Our work is not done yet!

Western North Carolina will be on the road to recovery for years to come due to the devastation from Hurricane Helene. Thousands of residences suffered structural damage with residents being displaced from their homes, many still facing challenges finding stable housing. The cost of temporary housing, rental and mortgage payments, and personal property damage continues to create a significant financial burden during the long-term recovery. Among those who continue to be affected are the dedicated healthcare workers who continue to be on the front lines, providing critical care to those in need while grappling with the personal toll the disaster has taken on their own lives.
