The Walworth County Food & Diaper Bank serves over 450 households monthly, providing 10-14 days of food, along with diapers for babies and toddlers, period supplies, incontinence products for older adults, and many more resources for our neighbors who are in need of a little help. Many of these patrons have questions about the best ways to get the best-tasting meals out of their food while fitting cooking in with the challenges they face in their daily lives.

This October, National Cookbook Month, Lake Geneva Country Meats will donate a slate of cookbooks to WCFDB to serve as resources for their patrons. We want to empower everyone in our community to feel confident making wholesome, nutritious food, and we need your help.

We have selected 6 cookbooks that provide practical, tested, and tasty recipes for the varied needs of WCFDB’s patrons, and we will be donating a copy of each book to start a resource library. Each set has a retail value of $195, and we ask you to donate to help us purchase more sets. Here’s the list of books:

America’s Test Kitchen: The Complete Cooking for Two Cookbook

Did you know that many of Walworth County Food & Diaper Bank’s patrons are senior citizens who are learning to adapt to cooking for smaller numbers of people? This cookbook will help them make terrific meals for smaller groups!

America’s Test Kitchen: The Ultimate Meal-Prep Cookbook

When you work several jobs, budgeting your time is essential. This book helps our neighbors with 130+ foolproof recipes for saving time while eating well. It includes recipes, tips, and checklists.

America’s Test Kitchen: The Complete Slow Cooker Cookbook

We all love coming home to a house that smells delicious and a meal that is ready to eat. For Patrons who have just completed a long day of work, this cookbook will help them enjoy that feeling of comfort as they come home to a ready-to-enjoy meal.

America’s Test Kitchen: The Complete One Pot Cookbook

Doing dishes is the least fun part of cooking, and this recipe helps save time while supporting our Neighbors who don’t have many different kitchen utensils with over 400 recipes that need just one dish to cook.

America’s Test Kitchen: The Complete Diabetes Cookbook

When you don’t have time to cook, processed food can dominate your diet, leading to health challenges such as diabetes. This cookbook will help our neighbors who are living with this chronic disease create meals that control their health.

America’s Test Kitchen: The Complete Baby and Toddler Cookbook

Walworth County Food & Diaper Bank supports many young parents in this community, and this cookbook is packed with recipes to create wholesome meals that our youngest neighbors will love as they learn to enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals.

At the end of our donation challenge, we will total up the donations and buy as many sets of books as we can. While the retail value is $195, sales and discounts are often available, and we will find the best price to purchase as many books as possible, with Lake Geneva Country Meats donating to round up to the next set. Your gracious donation will not be wasted!

Plus, for everyone who donates $10 or more to the campaign, we will email you a coupon to save 10% on a purchase of $25 or more at Lake Geneva Country Meats between now and November 17^th! Please allow 2 – 3 days for the coupon to be emailed to you.

Our goal is to secure $780 of donations for this campaign to donate a total of 5 sets of cookbooks to the Food Bank, and all donations over that amount will be used for general uses such as purchasing more food as we approach the Holiday season. Our stretch goal is to hit a total of $2,000 – we can do this!
