At PGH SK8, our mission is to create safe, inclusive spaces where people of all ages, abilities, races, bodies, and genders can connect, heal, and build healthy communities through roller skating.

Our flagship program, SK8 School (currently located at Homewood Brushton YMCA), is where this vision becomes reality. It offers structured lessons, supportive instructors, and a welcoming community that helps participants grow in confidence, connection, and physical well-being.

Expanding Our Impact Through School Partnerships

We are now preparing to expand SK8 School to partner with local schools, bringing accessible movement, social–emotional development, and community building directly to students. This expansion will allow us to reach youth who may not otherwise have access to skating, safe recreation spaces, or supportive skill-building programs.

To do this responsibly and sustainably, we need the proper equipment.

We Need More Skates — And This Is Where You Come In

Our current equipment supply is not large enough to meet growing demand. To offer SK8 School both in our community programs and offer field trips, we must increase our inventory of safe, reliable skates in a full range of sizes.

Your support will help us:

Purchase new skates for youth and adults
Replace worn or unsafe equipment
Ensure all participants have access to properly fitted gear
Expand SK8 School partnerships into local schools and additional neighborhoods
