You are getting this letter from me under unusual circumstances. I am writing to ask for your help and support as I embark upon a major challenge. You see, have have decided to run for President of Haiti. Will you help me?

Like you, I have always had a community spirit. For years I have volunteered with local churches and organizations in our community here in America, and have also organized many social services programs to various areas in my native country Haiti.

All my life I have believed that citizens should give back to their communities. That is why I have taken this enormous step now in my life to run for public office. I believes that Haiti is in great danger, currently faces hunger, unemployment, lack of public services, rapes, and mass killings of the poor. Haiti’s jails are filled with prisoners without justice, and the poor majority still face political persecution. The situation steadily worsens. The reins of power remain effectively in the hands of the gans. We are horrified to think of the legacy I am leaving my children.

I am committed to the principles of limited government, free enterprise, and traditional moral values. I support education, democracy, and freedom of press. I believe that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, need to act in solidarity against repression across the globe. My sincere belief is that I can bring our ideas and experiences to the Haitian lawmakers and save the country from the enemies of freedom and sovereignty. With your help, I believes we can defeat misery.

My good friend of Haiti, I have a burden, and the essence of my burdens is that I am drawn to serve my people. Haiti needs our help. Intrinsically I understand what it will take to get me there. What I need are tools for action.
