Dogs on the Go, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded in 2016 to assist the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. We save the lives of rescue dogs and train them to alert their owners to critical sounds by making physical contact with one or two paws and taking them to the source of the sound. Our dogs are trained to work sounds such as: smoke alarm, gas stove click, baby cry, first responder siren, tornado warning siren, doorbell, cell phone ring and more.

We offer in-person training, as well as innovative virtual training for clients and their pets. This means we are able to work with any pet owner in Illinois or Wisconsin as long as they have internet access. We are also dedicated to providing free, trained dogs to clients who receive SSDI or meet our income guidelines.
