In 2025, we estimate that there are more than 600,000 undocumented LGBTQ+ immigrants in the U.S. In our team’s decades of experience, and having supported individuals from 68 different countries, most have endured severe persecution in their country of origin due to their sexuality, gender identity, and/or HIV status. Many would qualify for asylum but do not have the resources to access legal representation to navigate the U.S. immigration system. After fleeing, queer and trans asylum seekers often find themselves isolated in the U.S., grappling with profound trauma.

Through direct legal representation and social services navigation, we work to radically transform the lives of our clients. Since opening our doors in 2017, we have supported over 2,800 LGBTQ+ immigrants. Legal status provides asylum seekers protection from deportation to countries where their lives are in danger. Holistic social services (housing, job readiness, higher education) address the critical needs of our clients beyond legal status, facilitating integration, healing, and empowerment of our client community so that they can thrive.

Expanded ICE presence and escalating reports of deportations and detentions (including widespread violations of due process) are eroding the right to asylum and endanger queer and trans immigrants. These policies are not only morally unjust, they are life-threatening.
