The Lawfare Project's Brooke Goldstein in Conversation with Ezra Levant

When Journalists Are Silenced, Who Will Stand Up for Their Rights?

Five lawsuits. One fight for freedom. And a legal battle we cannot afford to lose.

What happens when police arrest a Jewish journalist covering a pro-Hamas protest, even after he complies with their instructions, because they claim his presence could provoke a breach of the peace? For Ezra Levant, founder of Rebel News, and his team of Canadian journalists, this isn't a hypothetical question.

It's a fight unfolding in courtrooms across Canada.

And now, The Lawfare Project and #EndJewHatred are stepping into the fight.
We're launching a dedicated fundraising campaign to support five consequential lawsuits involving Ezra Levant, Rebel News, and their journalists, cases that raise fundamental questions about freedom of the press, government accountability, freedom of expression, and the protection of civil liberties.

Because when journalists face alleged abuses of authority for doing their jobs, or government officials are accused of suppressing lawful expression, the consequences extend far beyond the newsroom.

And when Jewish voices are targeted, we refuse to look away.

Five Lawsuits. One Unmistakable Message.
Freedom of the press is not a privilege reserved for journalists whose views are popular.
Civil rights do not evaporate in the presence of an angry crowd.

And the power of government must never become a weapon against lawful expression.

These five legal challenges raise serious questions about the treatment of journalists, the limits of police authority, and the responsibility of public institutions to respect constitutional freedoms and the rule of law.

Each case presents its own legal questions. Together, they represent an opportunity to challenge conduct that threatens the foundations of a free society.

We intend to help make sure these questions are answered in court, not buried by the staggering cost of pursuing justice.
