Why This Fund Exists

The Purple Rose Initiative began with a deeply personal story. Like many families, ours met the realities of genetic disease through our daughter, Bella. Her journey opened our eyes to what it means to navigate uncertainty, fight for answers, and hold onto hope — and to how many other families are facing that same fight, often without the same access to research, resources, or recognition.

Bella's story isn't the only one. It represents thousands of individuals living with genetic and chronic conditions that are too often unseen, underfunded, and misunderstood.

Cystic fibrosis research has done something rare: it has produced breakthroughs that reach far beyond CF itself, advancing treatment and understanding across a wide range of genetic and chronic conditions. We believe that same model — one disease, driving progress for many — can keep accelerating, if it's funded.

That's what this fund supports:

Research — Backing studies that explore how discoveries in CF and related conditions translate into care for a broader patient population.

Education — Equipping newly diagnosed families with the resources and clarity they need to navigate a diagnosis with confidence.

Advocacy — Representing patients and families in front of the policymakers and funders who shape what's possible next.
