We believe that organized sport, in particular tennis, has the power to transform the lives of youth around the world.

In the summer of 2024, Sown traveled to the Philippines to tell the story of Salvador and One Love Tennis. The impact that Salvador’s work has had on the community is immeasurable. Now, One Love Tennis is turning their attention to their next project, in the next country: The Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic suffers from high rates of poverty, which are especially prevalent among the country's youth population. Over 40% of people live in poverty, with over 10% living in extreme poverty.

The benefits of youth sports are undeniable. A child that's involved in playing sports is 92% less likely to do drugs and 80% less likely to get pregnant. They're also 3 times more likely to graduate than non-athletes.

By resurfacing 10 tennis courts, strategically spread out throughout the country, we will create programs and opportunities for are a more promising future for poor youth in the Dominican Republic.

Sown is collecting funds on behalf of One Love Tennis for this fundraiser. As a pass-through entity, Sown will retain 10% of the total funds raised to support our ongoing work with future organizations. The remaining 90% will be distributed to One Love Tennis.
