Edith Speaks & The Winnie Carter Collection – October 18

October is just around the corner, and we are excited to invite you to this year’s Edith Bolling Wilson Birthday Celebration on Saturday, October 18, 3:00 pm, at the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum.

Opening Remarks: Mr. Casey Jenkins, Executive Director, Virginia Association of Museums
Edith Speaks: Dr. Adam Manuel will share publicly for the first time the newly discovered, only known recording of Edith Bolling Wilson’s voice.
The Winnie Carter Collection: Mr. Tom Johnson will be the featured speaker sharing stories of this newly donated Collection to the Museum. Mr. Johnson is the grandson of Mrs. Winnie Carter, who was Mrs. Wilson’s nurse for the last six years of the First Lady’s life and lived with her at the S. Street House in D.C. All the treasures in the Collection were owned by President and Mrs. Wilson and will be exhibited at the Museum.
“Happy Birthday Edith and Winnie:” Along with celebrating the birthday of Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Carter’s birthday is October 18. Join in singing Happy Birthday to Mrs. Carter and to “Edith,” portrayed by Mrs. Betsy Ely.
