THE NEED

For over a decade, our organization has been a lifeline for homeless and at-risk youth aged 13-18 at our Sound House location. As we've witnessed remarkable growth in the number of young people seeking our assistance, it has become increasingly evident that our current 5,000 square feet is no longer sufficient to meet this rising demand. Compounding our challenges is the reality that the building we occupy is for sale, leaving us precariously positioned with a month-to-month lease. This uncertainty not only threatens our operational stability but also hampers our ability to plan and execute essential programs, as we are constantly faced with the risk of eviction or relocation.

THE SOLUTION

In response to these urgent needs, we are committed to building a new 8,000 square foot facility designed to enhance and expand the support we provide. This larger space will allow us to create dedicated areas for counseling, education, and life skills programming, ensuring a holistic approach to the development of the youth we serve. Additionally, we have chosen a property that is 3.5 acres and will provide opportunities for recreational activities, fostering community and personal growth. With features like a picnic pavilion for communal meals, a basketball half-court for teamwork and physical activity, and a garden to teach valuable life skills, our vision is to cultivate not just a safe haven but a vibrant community hub that empowers young individuals to thrive.

OUR GOAL

To bring our vision to life, we have launched a $3 million capital campaign aimed at funding the construction of a new facility. We are thrilled to share that we have qualified for two large grants, allowing us to raise half of the funding needed before our campaign is launched. This progress energizes our commitment to creating a stable and nurturing environment for the youth we serve. With community support, we are confident that we can reach our goal and ensure that our expanded services have a lasting impact on the lives of homeless and at-risk teens in our community.
