🏥 The Challenge

I immigrated to the United States at age 12, raised by my mother in the Bronx, NY. Thanks to the generosity of this country, I received an education and built a new life. Out of deep gratitude, I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve in 2004, serving 16 years and deploying to major emergencies like Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, and Guantanamo Bay.

Years of physically demanding deployments and operating small response boats took a toll on my body. In 2019, after years of worsening pain, I was diagnosed with three herniated discs—one bulging and causing severe pain radiating down my left leg. Despite physical therapy, stretching, and multiple nerve block injections, my condition has continued to deteriorate. My right knee has also begun to fail due to years of compensating for my back.

Today, my pain level is 8 out of 10, my physical activity is at a 4, and my quality of life is just a 4. Simple things—walking, sitting, standing, or sleeping—are now exhausting and painful. I can no longer play sports with my kids or even lift them, and everyday tasks like mopping or carrying groceries are overwhelming. This has not only affected my physical health but has also caused anxiety, sadness, and frustration.

🌟 Discovering Hope

Doctors have recommended invasive surgery, but after much research and consultation, I found hope in regenerative stem cell therapy at Cellular Performance Institute (CPI)—a path trusted by elite athletes and supported by Miracle Hope Foundation for veterans like me. Serving my country has been one of my greatest honors. Now, I need help to serve my family and community again. Chronic pain has created a heartbreaking distance between me and my children, and my ability to participate in family life has been deeply affected. My greatest hope is to regain my independence, alleviate daily suffering, and be the father and husband my family deserves.
