CARE STL, also recognized as the Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment of St. Louis, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, recovering, and rehoming vulnerable animals. Since its establishment in 2018, its unwavering commitment has been to foster a supportive community that values collaboration, compassion, and the welfare of both humans and animals.

Our mission is to rescue animals from unfortunate circumstances, provide them with the essential care and rehabilitation they require, and ultimately find them forever homes filled with love. CARE STL is contracted by the City of St. Louis Department of Health as its official No-Kill animal shelter partner in managing the City Animal Care shelter. CARE STL helps the city enforce Title 10 of the City Code relevant to animal care and control. CARE STL's target goal is to achieve the highest live release rate in the nation by following the guiding principles of proper sheltering practices.
