Story

For over 40 years, Parkside Community Preschool has been making a big difference in the lives of young children and their families.

The longest continuously running preschool program in the county, Parkside (then known as Child Care Inc.) was started in 1967 by a group of volunteers from The League of Women Voters to provide child care for children of women in the Title V federal training (Welfare) program.

Parkside now opens it doors to families of all income levels. Our tuition is based on a sliding scale according to family size and income with flexible scheduling to accommodate the diverse needs of families. These types of services are crucial to families attempting to blend work or school schedules with child care and help low-income families achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

In February of 2004, (after 37 years in the same location), we moved into our new facility, designed and built just for young children! With this move, we were able to expand and provide much needed infant & toddler care and added more slots to our existing preschool program.
