What if one evening could change the way you see another person—and the way they see themselves?

Partnering with Purpose: Generations in Motion is more than a fundraiser. It is one of the Dynasty Stars Foundation's two signature annual fundraising events and a celebration of confidence, connection, and the extraordinary abilities of individuals with disabilities.

Our mission has always been simple: to create opportunities where every individual is seen for their abilities, not their disabilities. This event brings that mission to life.

Each Dynasty Star is paired one-on-one with an adult community Buddy. At first glance, many people assume the Buddy will be the teacher and the Star will be the learner. Within minutes, that assumption is completely turned upside down.

After spending time getting to know one another through guided conversation and activities, the Stars step into the role of teacher. They guide their Buddies through their very first ballroom dance lesson. For many Buddies, it is their first experience ballroom dancing. For our Stars, it is an opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have worked so hard to develop through countless hours of practice.

For one evening, the person who is often underestimated becomes the expert.

The Buddy discovers that ballroom dance requires communication, patience, leadership, teamwork, rhythm, and trust. The Star discovers that they have something valuable to teach someone else.

It is an incredibly powerful moment.

Throughout the evening, participants dance, laugh, perform, and celebrate together. Families watch with pride as their children confidently lead adults across the dance floor. Buddies leave with a completely new understanding of what individuals with disabilities are capable of accomplishing.

The event is intentionally designed around the principles of the Two-Generation (2Gen) approach, creating meaningful relationships across generations while strengthening both the individual and the community. Research shows that positive intergenerational relationships increase empathy, reduce isolation, and create healthier, more connected communities. Partnering with Purpose puts those principles into action.

But the event is only the beginning.

Every dollar raised supports scholarship opportunities that allow individuals with disabilities to continue their ballroom dance education through individualized private lessons. These scholarships cover a portion of lesson costs, while families invest alongside us by paying the remaining balance. This shared commitment ensures that every family has ownership in their child's journey while removing financial barriers that might otherwise prevent participation.

Those private lessons become so much more than dance instruction.

Students learn to make eye contact, communicate with a partner, remember complex choreography, regulate emotions, work toward long-term goals, and perform confidently in front of audiences. Many go on to compete in regional and national ballroom competitions, travel with our team, speak on a microphone before performances, and develop confidence that extends into school, work, and everyday life.

These are skills that change futures.

Parents consistently tell us they see improvements not only on the dance floor, but at home, in school, and throughout daily life. They describe children who are more confident, more social, more independent, and more willing to try new experiences because someone believed in them.
