Families displaced by the security situation, parents struggling to rebuild after evacuation, and reservists living with PTSD are preparing for the holiday while confronting overwhelming uncertainty and financial strain.

La’Aretz Foundation, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is leading this urgent Passover campaign to ensure that families in crisis are not left alone during this sacred time.

100 percent of all funds raised will go directly to families in need, supporting their most urgent necessities, including:

• Safe housing and relocation support
• Food and basic security needs
• Medication and medical treatment
• Trauma therapy and emotional care
• Basic living expenses so families can prepare for the holiday with dignity

We work with trusted partners including regional councils in Mevo’ot HaHermon, S'dot Negev, and Eshkol, the Social Services Department at Hadassah Rehabilitation Center, and local municipalities to identify families most in need.

One of the Families Waiting for Help

Michal and Arieh, Sdot Negev Region

Michal and Arieh are married and raising two young children, ages 5 and 1, with another baby on the way.
Over the past two years, Arieh has served more than 700 days in reserve duty, much of it in active combat zones. While the family was not formally evacuated, they lived under constant security threats, with Michal left alone for long stretches to care for the children as Arieh was repeatedly called up.

As a direct result of his extended service, Arieh was dismissed from his high-tech position and struggled for months to re-enter the workforce after such a long absence. Although he recently began a new job, the family has not yet regained financial stability.
During the war, Michal gave birth to their second child alone and experienced postpartum depression, making it impossible for her to return to work. Her small independent business in design and production closed after prolonged anxiety, instability, and lack of income. Today, with two young children and another pregnancy, the family is under immense emotional and financial strain.

As Passover approaches, the basic costs of daily living have become overwhelming. Preparing for the holiday, food, electricity, and essential household expenses are a heavy burden for a family still trying to recover.

Support through the Passover Relief Campaign will help this family cover food for the holiday, essential living expenses, and allow them to observe Passover with dignity, stability, and peace of mind. For Michal and Arieh, this assistance is not just financial; it is a bridge toward recovery and hope after years of sacrifice and uncertainty.
