Meet K-9 Kira!

Every day, police K-9s put themselves in harm's way without hesitation. They don't choose this job because they understand the dangers, they choose it because they trust their handler and love the work they're trained to do!

K-9 Kira is one of those incredible dogs.

Together, Officer Brian and Kira serve the Mansfield Township community as a team, relying on each other every single day.

But keeping a police K-9 safe and operating at her highest potential requires specialized equipment, and many K-9 programs, including Officer Brian's, rely heavily on community support to provide it!

Why We're Raising Funds

The Pawtecting Paws NJ team created this campaign with one simple mission:

To help protect the four-legged heroes who spend their lives protecting us.

Our first community fundraiser is dedicated to helping Officer Brian and K-9 Kira receive the specialized equipment/vet bills/etc they need to work safely, effectively, and confidently throughout Kira's career.

Every dollar raised will go toward approved K-9 equipment, including items such as:

Summer working harness
Protective booties
Training equipment
Climb platform
Kuranda elevated bed
Muzzle
Spill-proof water bowl
Rinse kit
Working patches
Vet bills
Additional safety and training equipment as approved by Officer Brian

Every piece of equipment has a purpose. It helps Kira perform her job safely while reducing unnecessary risks in unpredictable environments.

Why This Matters

When asked what he wishes more people understood about police K-9s, Officer Brian shared something that perfectly captures who Kira is:

"They live to work. Work is what drives them, and they love to do it. No one loves their job more than a properly trained working dog."

Despite the common misconceptions, these dogs aren't forced into this work...they thrive on it!! They train constantly, love solving problems, and form an incredible partnership with their handlers.

Officer Brian also shared that his K-9 program currently operates largely through donations.

Without community support, many working dogs are left with only the minimum equipment available. Donations help provide the tools that keep them safer while allowing them to perform at their very best.

Pawtecting Paws NJ is a community-driven (soon to be) 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting local shelters, rescues, and any animal in need!

Our goal is to make our k-9 campaign yearly to be able to help as many K-9's as we can! Together, we're building a movement that helps provide essential equipment, resources, and support for the incredible dogs who serve alongside law enforcement every day.

Meet Kira!

This community fundraiser is organized by Amanda Kristy Media in support of Pawtecting Paws. Funds raised through this campaign will be collected by Amanda Kristy Media and presented as a lump-sum donation to the Mansfield Township Police Department K-9 Program to support K-9 Kira. Pawtecting Paws is not currently a tax-exempt 501(c)(3), and contributions should not be represented as tax-deductible charitable donations.
