We need to support research that centers people and experts in how robots are researched, developed, and used. Peerbots is on a mission to build social robots for everyone, powered by experts. The Peerbots Research Fellowship is a crucial part of Peerbots' commitment to raising the floor of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) research and getting more experts involved in HRI research. This paid, ~3-month fellowship will support a researcher working on people-centered research of social robots.

The 2025 Peerbots Research Fellowship is in partnership with Semio Community, a nonprofit working on advancing the field of Human-Robot Interaction through reproducible software, hardware, and science.

This fellowship funds an early career researcher or researcher in training to complete at least one study and submit a publication to a leading research venue such as HRI, CHI, DIS, or CSCW. Fellowship research furthers Peerbots' mission and integrates with, informs, or evaluates Peerbots products, services, or frameworks.

Your contribution goes towards:

- A stipend to compensate the research fellow

- Study materials, participant compensation, and ethics approval

- Mentorship and collaboration with Peerbots' advisors and community of researchers and experts

- Travel and accommodation to present resulting publication(s)

- And more!
