As a volunteer coding coach with the Girls Who Code club at United Cultural Association, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing something truly special: the growth of a group of 6th to 8th graders as they begin their journey into the world of coding.
What makes this experience meaningful isn’t just watching students learn to code or solve problems. It’s seeing them learn together.
When they encounter challenges, they support one another, share ideas, and figure things out as a team. Along the way, they build more than technical skills. They build friendships, gain confidence in their abilities, and create memories that will stay with them long after the lessons end.
I’ve seen how a supportive learning environment can encourage young students to try something new, embrace challenges, and discover what they’re capable of achieving. Every small breakthrough is a reminder that learning is about more than getting the right answer. It’s about having the courage to keep trying and knowing that you don’t have to do it alone.
That’s why I’m supporting the Girls Who Code club at United Cultural Association. I believe every young person deserves the opportunity to explore technology, discover their potential, and grow alongside a community that believes in them.
Your support can help us create more opportunities for these students to learn, connect, and thrive. Together, we can give them not only the tools to build with code, but also the confidence, friendships, and lasting memories that will help shape their future.
Thank you for being part of their journey!
