Hello :D My name is Erin and I'm the Vice President of Operations for the University of Michigan chapter for the year. My work with Perfect Pair is incredibly meaningful to me, and I'm so grateful for your support as we aim to foster intergenerational connections and combat loneliness and improve well-being for both students and older adults. Working in assisted living facilities for over three years as a nurse assistant, I have seen the social isolation and lack of consistent relationships that a great deal of older residents experience, and how it negatively impacts people's well being and health. My residents would go for weeks without visitors, and many would stay permanently confined in their rooms, even for meals. Perfect Pair's mission of forming personalized, intentional 1-on-1 relationships helps fill in the gaps to mutually benefit both college students and older adults, not just on one side.

My pair Kathy and I like to just talk and go on walks together around her retirement community. Seeing her is a highlight of my week and I admire her outlook on life and learn a lot from her.
