Located in the high desert mountains of Central Mexico, Mexico's Biggest Little Sanctuary, Angelitos Sanctuario ( Little Angels Sanctuary), an American 501c3, is a long-time dream of an enthusiastic bunch of expatriate and Mexican animal lovers working together to create a place of peace and safety for unwanted and abused animals.

For more than four years, while based in temporary locations, we have managed to rescue over 2000 animals. With your help, we will save thousands more.

We are asking for your support in completing a permanent sanctuary that will be a safe, loving, forever home to thousands of unadoptable animals in dire need.

This is Phase 2 of the campaign to create humane conditions and a peaceful space for our donkeys, dogs, puppies, cats, other animal species -- and staff!

Our Story

Last December, the sanctuary lost its previously rented location due to the property being sold. We found three acres to make a new sanctuary and began buying the land.

We began basic infrastructure to support our large, mostly permanent population of donkeys, dogs, puppies, cats, other animal species-- and staff. We also began to set up for our successful adoption efforts abroad.

We have been living on-site with barely the basics since the build began in February. It has not been easy, but little by little -- poco a poco -- we are making progress. Much of it thanks to your generosity.

We've been getting by with the barest of basics but do not yet have habitable conditions for our animals or staff--- nor areas of enrichment for the animals.

We currently have crowded conditions, no play spaces, no bathrooms, no running water, and insufficient shelters. The rainy season has begun! Phase 2 will bring us up to speed and help us finish many things to be fully operational.

We must make the property safe and habitable for our animals and staff and complete the infrastructure for our successful adoption efforts abroad.

Our goal is 100,000 dollars, a long-range fundraiser. We are determined to be complete this year, and we have a long way to go. Our supporters made all we have thus far possible.
