(YES, we moved the date!) On Saturday, August 17th beginning at 10am at Kraken Kourts & Skates, NVRDC will be hosting Pickleball For Survivors! Proceeds from this tournament will go towards NVRDC services to support survivors of crime and trauma in the DC community. What you need to know: -Teams should be doubles so sign up with a friend! -Teams CAN be mixed gender but do not have to be -The tournament will be single-elimination format -NVRDC will provide balls for the tournament, but team members must bring their own rackets (or rent rackets at Kraken for $3) -Timed games to 11 points. -Open skill level -Childcare available for teams! Please indicate how many kids and their ages when registering. 2 of the pickleball courts will be reserved for the kids to play under supervision. - Door prizes available when you sign in! Bring extra cash to increase your chances for our prizes provided by Alamo Drafthouse and Dacha Beer Garden. Light food provided by Shaw's Tavern. Drinks available for purchase! Kraken has a private parking lot in front of the building. It’s paid parking starting at $4/hour. Kraken is right across from the Rhode Island Avenue station on the red line.
