Building Out Workshop Release of Liability

By entering and using the Boss (Building Out Safer Spaces/ Skill Sets Workshop), I agree to the following terms regarding liability:

Acknowledgment of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in activities at BOSS involves inherent risks, including but not limited to the use of tools, machinery, and equipment, as well as working with various materials such as chemicals, metals, wood, and other potentially hazardous substances. I fully understand and accept these risks, and I am voluntarily participating in activities at the workshop.

Assumption of Risk

I understand that BOSS will provide training and instructions on the safe use of tools and equipment, but I assume full responsibility for my own actions while using the space. I agree that I will take all necessary precautions, follow safety guidelines, and seek assistance if I am unsure about the proper use of any tool, equipment, or machinery.

Release of Liability

I hereby release and hold harmless BOSS aka Building Out Safer Spaces and Skill Sets, its staff, volunteers, and other members from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or damages. This release applies to any injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur while I am using the makerspace, its tools, equipment, or materials. It also applies while I am engaging in any other activities at the makerspace, whether the cause is by my own actions, the actions of others, or any defect in tools, equipment, or materials.

This release includes, but is not limited to, any injuries, damages, or loss of property arising from the use of machines, tools, or any other equipment, and any personal injuries or harm that may occur in connection with my participation in makerspace activities. I understand that I am solely responsible for my actions and safety while in the space.

Indemnification (security against legal liability for one's actions)

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless BOSS its staff, volunteers, and other members from any and all claims, damages, expenses, or losses arising from my actions.This includes, but is not limited to,claims resulting from my failure to follow safety guidelines. If further extends to any other act of negligence or misconduct while using the space.

Medical Treatment

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Building Out staff to seek medical treatment for me if necessary. I agree to be responsible for any medical costs or expenses incurred due to any injury or health-related incident while participating in activities at the workshop.

Acknowledgment of Understanding

By registering for this workshop, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the terms of this Release of Liability. I also confirm that I have received training, or will seek training as required, for the proper use of equipment and tools within the workshop.
