The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Omega Psi Omega Chapter was chartered on December 16, 2017. We proudly serve the communities of Elizabeth, Linden, Rahway, and Roselle, New Jersey.

Since our inception eight years ago, we have provided community service and scholarships to families and youth in the aforementioned cities. We have hosted the following community service projects: provided food to approximately 130 children of School #4 in Linden to address weekend food insecurity in the past three years; 10 youth leaders during a six-month, youth-led leadership program; furnished a therapeutic room at the Covenant House transitional housing for young mothers in Elizabeth; provided Thanksgiving dinners for families in Elizabeth; participated in the American Cancer Society-Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, raising more than $10,000 over our years of involvement and provided 600 Warm Care Kits to children at Nicholas Murray Butler School #23 in Elizabeth. These are just a few of our service projects. Regarding our scholarships, we have donated more than $20,000 to college-bound youth. In addition, we have won awards and been acknowledged by the Union County Board of Commissioners for community service.
