Pizza & Place

A benefit dinner & conversation from Pizza Daughter × Hollywood Food Coalition

Meet the people behind the pizza.

Join Pizza Daughter and Hollywood Food Coalition for an intimate dinner built around one locally rooted meal and the people who make it possible.

Pizza Daughter will serve a family-style dinner featuring pizza made on site with local grain, produce, and dairy, alongside seasonal salad and dessert.

Around the table, we’ll hear from Tehachapi Grain Project, Sunrise Organic Farm, a local dairy producer, Pizza Daughter, and Hollywood Food Coalition, each representing a different piece of the food system behind the meal.

The pizza is our starting point for a bigger conversation: What does “local” actually mean? What does it take for farmers, food businesses, community organizations, and eaters to support one another? And how can we build stronger community food systems within the food system we actually have?

This isn’t just a talk about buying local. It’s an opportunity to eat together, meet the people behind the ingredients, and talk about how food connects us to place and to one another.

Hollywood Food Coalition is an organization dedicated to nourishing the community by rescuing and distributing food, preparing nightly meals, and uniting efforts to achieve food equity.

We work to end food insecurity and build a stronger, more connected Los Angeles through food, care, and collective action. Our Exchange rescues high-quality food and redistributes it daily to grassroots nonprofits across the city, expanding access, reducing waste, and supporting communities too often left out of traditional food systems. At our nightly Dinner, we serve nourishing, chef-prepared meals 365 days of the year, offering not just sustenance but consistency, dignity, and human connection for those experiencing hunger or hardship. Here, our Wellness team connects guests with essential services like healthcare, hygiene, and housing, while we advocate for a stronger, more equitable safety net that reaches everyone.
