Every day, animals at local municipal shelters must leave in order to have a chance at life. For many of them, that means being pulled by rescue groups, placed into foster homes, or transported to partner organizations that can give them the time and care they need. Without that next step, their future is uncertain, even when they are healthy, friendly, and full of potential.

Many of them have nowhere to wait for that chance to find their forever home.

Right now, Rising Sun Animal Rescue depends almost entirely on foster homes. Our fosters are amazing, but there simply aren't enough of them. As more animals are saved, more are waiting in boarding or remaining at the shelter simply because we don't have a safe place for them to go.

That's why we're launching A Place to Rise.

Our goal is to secure a rescue facility where dogs can stay safely while they wait for transport to our rescue partners. This won't replace our foster program, it will strengthen it by giving us a place for dogs who need a little more time or special care.

This space will provide:

☀️ Emergency shelter housing for dogs with nowhere else to go

☀️ Medical recovery space for dogs healing after surgery or illness

☀️ Isolation areas to safely care for contagious or vulnerable animals

☀️ Temporary kennel space while dogs wait for transport to their rescue partners

☀️ Dedicated cat rooms so we can expand our lifesaving efforts

To make this possible, our goal is $5,000 in monthly recurring donations. Recurring gifts provide reliable funding that allows us to confidently sign a lease, care for the animals inside, and plan for the future instead of wondering each month if we'll have enough to keep the doors open. As we identify the right building for our mission, that goal may be adjusted to reflect the actual costs of creating the safest and most effective space possible for the animals in our care.
