We are back!!!! Join us on Saturdays—August 15, August 22 , and August 29—for a hands-on plastering class led by master craftsman Jim Post. In this comprehensive series, Jim will guide you through all stages of plastering, from start to finish.

These special classes will take place at the historic Marcus T. Reynolds Superintendent’s House, located at Albany Rural Cemetery. Built in 1899 by renowned architect Marcus T. Reynolds, this extraordinary home has not been in use for many years. This is a unique opportunity to learn traditional plastering techniques while helping bring new life to a historic space.

First Class:9:00 am to 1:00 pm Explain tools and materials .

1. open cracks, apply (plaster Magic adhesive) in one area

2. open and patch cracks with Lime and gauging plaster in another area

Second class: 9:00am to 1:00pm

1. Remove washers form cracks

2. apply primer and 1st coat of plaster and mesh

Third class: 9:00am to 1:00pm

1. Apply second coat of plaster and finish.
