Play it Forward: Welcome to Chinatown Winter Fundraiser 2026

An evening of culture, community, and impact at Jing Fong

🎶 Celebrate Welcome to Chinatown’s Top Hits & Set the Stage for 2027 🎶

Thursday, December 3, 2026 | 6–10 PM | Jing Fong, Chinatown NYC

Since 2020, Welcome to Chinatown has worked towards uplifting small businesses and helping the neighborhood stay open for the long-term. Together with our partners, donors, volunteers, and neighbors, we’ve connected generations, bridged tradition with innovation, and supported first-time entrepreneurs and legacy storefronts alike.

This December, join us to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together to help Chinatown grow beyond 2027. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or hearing our name for the first time, come “pay it forward” at our Play it Forward evening with the people, shop owners, and supporters who are writing Chinatown’s next chapter.

About the Event

Last year at Golden Hof, we welcomed guests for a night that sparked new partnerships, inspired volunteer engagement, and lasting relationships.

This year, we’re inviting guests to Jing Fong, Chinatown’s legendary dim sum hall and one of the neighborhood’s most beloved legacy businesses or a night that honors where we’ve been and more importantly, where we’re headed.

Don’t miss:

A festive soundtrack from DJ Hao, spinning Cantopop and Mandopop classics that carry the memories of past generations into the next
Banquet food served cocktail style, special curated moments, and game-based auctions where every play gives back
A year-end toast celebrating our entrepreneurs’ greatest hits, a true duet of tradition and innovation

Why It’s Personal

For decades, Jing Fong has been where Chinatown comes together: weekend dim sum with the grandparents, wedding banquets, birthday tables crowded with dumplings, and the clatter of carts that so many of us grew up with. It’s the kind of place that’s housed our neighborhood’s memories.

And over the years, we’ve had the privilege of getting to know Jing Fong not just as a restaurant, but as a partner. As they look to the future and build plans for the long-term health of their business, Jing Fong has joined our workshops, participated in our activations like WtC Runs, and joined our digital skills programming to streamline operations so the restaurant can keep thriving in a changing neighborhood. Watching a legacy business embrace what’s next, while staying true to what made it beloved, is exactly why we do this work.

So this year, we’re gathering in their dining room. It’s our way of saying thank you, of honoring what legacy businesses give to Chinatown, and of making sure their story is told for generations to come.
