September is childhood cancer awareness month and for the the third year now I have organized online raffles to help to raise money for children with cancer. This year all raffle monies will be donated directly to two deserving families in financial need. The first is supporting an 11-year-old boy, Yisrael Scheinberger, who is courageously fighting a brain tumor. Yisrael has lost his sight and much of his memory, and is currently undergoing a trial treatment called Ayvakit that is not covered by insurance. The second family has tragically lost a heroic mother of nine, who succumbed to smoke inhalation while saving her children during a house fire. One of her children, Michael Ben Adina Batsheva, remains hospitalized with severe burns.
