A Black Philanthropy Month Campaign

Healing Is Our Legacy. Giving is Our Power.

Last year, our foundation created more than 950 opportunities for people to seek support, access resources, and connect with a caring community. Many came to She Dreams In Color Foundation looking for something we all deserve—hope, connection, and access to mental health care. Some searched our website for affordable therapy. Others joined us in community through Postcards to Future Self, where conversations began, stories were shared, and healing took root. Every one of those people is a reminder that the need is real—and that together, we can ensure the next person who reaches out finds a pathway to care.

This August, we are inviting our community to Pour Into Her

In 2025, our website saw 383 visitors on the Find Therapy Portal. Each of those visitors was searching for affordable mental health therapy. They visit this site because they need help. Some are searching for hope, some healing and some are simply trying to find someone affordable that they can talk to. We don't know every story, but we know this, no one searches for therapy because life is easy. Every search represents someone who made one of the hardest decisions they may ever make—to ask for help.

This campaign is for them.

About Our Work

She Dreams In Color Foundation raises funds to make free and reduced-cost mental health therapy more accessible. Through storytelling, curated events, arts-integrated programs, and affordable therapy resources, we also create opportunities for connection and work to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health needs and seeking care.

We are a Black-led organization, and each member of our team brings unique lived experiences that help shape our work and strengthen our community. Meet Board Chair NiCole Lynch as she shares the story behind her commitment to the Foundation and the women we serve.

Our $5,000 Goal

Our goal is to raise $5,000 during August to help:

Fund free and reduced-cost mental health therapy through local partner practices
Maintain and expand our free Find Therapy resource
Bring Postcards to Future Self to community events
Create more opportunities for mental health conversations and meaningful connection

Why Give This August?

August is Black Philanthropy Month, a time to recognize and strengthen support for Black-led organizations and the communities they serve.

As a participating Black-led nonprofit, She Dreams In Color Foundation may receive an additional 5% match on eligible online donations made through Givebutter during August, subject to available matching funds and program terms.

Every gift helps create another pathway to care, connection, and support.

*She Dreams In Color Foundation funds Charlotte-based private practices to provide free and reduced-cost mental health therapy for marginalized women who face financial and geographic barriers to care. Therapy funding prioritizes Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, Asian-American, Pacific Islander, and other women of color living below the Federal Poverty level in designated Mecklenburg County health-disparity zip codes.
