A LETTER FROM OUR EVENT FOUNDER

November is Stomach Cancer Awareness Month. In 2012, while my aunt was in the hospital battling stomach cancer, a physician inquired about our family history and recommended testing to determine if there was a genetic predisposition putting my family at an increased risk for stomach cancer. The results of this test would change my family’s story forever.

I inherited CDH1, a rare genetic mutation that puts me at a significantly increased risk for developing hereditary diffuse gastric cancer (HDGC) AKA stomach cancer and lobular breast cancer.

In November 2017, I made the decision to get a prophylactic total gastrectomy; in other words, I chose to have my stomach surgically removed so that I would never get stomach cancer.

Hereditary cancer screening provided me with the knowledge that gave me the gift of choice... a gift that so many never get. For this, I am forever grateful.

Join us on November 19, 2022, at The Car Lofts (10 Kingsbridge Road, Fairfield, NJ 07004) at 7 pm to support my annual event, Previvor Perspective: Hungry for Awareness, In Loving Memory of Debbie Walker Lunceford. The evening will raise money for No Stomach for Cancer (NSFC), a foundation which raises awareness and supports research related to stomach cancer, the 5th most common cancer worldwide and the 2nd most common cause of cancer deaths globally.

Tickets are $100.00 each, which includes open bar, appetizers, and contributions to the charity. Please join us for an evening of dancing and the opportunity to dress in your best cocktail attire. You may purchase tickets in advance by clicking the event button on this page.

If you are unable to join us, please consider donating (link below).

By supporting this foundation, we can help NSFC continue their research efforts, help provide public knowledge, awareness, and encouraging screening. Screening means early detection and prevention, ultimately giving more people the gift of choice… that I am grateful to have had.

All my love,

Cherielee Jeffers (Passalaqua) - Founder of Previvor Perspective, Hungry for Awareness
