Come hear the fifth and final concert of our first season at our new venue: Valley Center for the Performing Arts (formerly Holy Names University), 3500 Mountain Blvd. Oakland, just off Highway 13 at Redwood Road. The concert will be Sunday, May 17 at 3pm. Parking is plentiful (see parking map).

We will perform Brahms' beautiful Symphony No. 4 in E minor and Gustav Mahler's Rückert Lieder sung by the fabulous Raeeka Shehabi-Yaghmai. No season of ours is complete without the fantastically gorgeous voice of this gifted soprano. She adds new meaning to these songs of longing and yearning.

Since 1965, Prometheus Symphony Orchestra has offered five or more concerts, with no admission charge. Our excellent musicians—life-long amateur players and former professional musicians—share a passion for great symphonic music. We feature great composers from the Classical, Romantic and Modern periods—both fan favorites and composers you might not yet be familiar with. And our Khuner Young Artist Concerto Competition discovers gifted young musicians who perform with the orchestra each season and often go on to international careers.

While our concerts are always free, we do rely on donations from both our musicians and our audience. You can donate when you reserve your tickets on this site, on our website, or in person at a concert.
