But what's this talk about a birthday curse? It all started with an orthodox upbringing that downplayed a childhood desire to celebrate birthdays.

Psanctuary co-founder Eric Osborne grew up discouraged from celebrating his birth but, as the years went on, and his wife Courtney encouraged him, in 2020 Eric finally decided to celebrate, and that's when the 'curse' kicked in.

Since then, every birthday week of Eric's has carried some significant challenges.

This year, 2024, he broke his ankle rollerskating just a week before his birthday. But rather than taking this opportunity to feel sorry for himself, he wants to turn this bad luck into a blessing by giving birth to a year of birthday fundraisers, to be utilized by any Psanctuary member during their birthday week, exponentially increasing the potential impact. If all of our current Psanctuary members (500ish) raised just $200 during their birthday week, this would provide 125 scholarships!

If you don't know, Eric has devoted 25 years of his life to building community around sacred mushrooms, starting multiple projects in the field. The Psanctuary community and the training it offers does more to achieve these goals than all of his previous work combined but there is much more to do!
