Mike and I were expecting our first child, a baby girl, in July of 2022. We had a c-section scheduled to deliver her on Friday, July 15th and we were so excited to welcome our daughter into the world! Sadly, just 10 days before our delivery date at 38 weeks pregnant, we learned that our beautiful baby girl, Michaela Mae Markinson, lost her heart beat.

July 5th, 2022 instantly became the most gut wrenching tragic day of our lives. What we anticipated being the best day of our lives turned into the most painful experience we’ve ever had to endure, beyond anything we could possibly comprehend. Our baby girl was more beautiful and perfect than we ever could have imagined, and our hearts are forever broken that we’ll never get to see her grow up, smile and hear her laugh. We’ll never stop loving her until the end of time. We both wish we could just hold her in our arms forever but we’re grateful for the brief moment we had…she will be held in our hearts, and never forgotten. We love our beautiful sweet baby angel...
