The Palestinian House of Friendship (PHF), now in its 29^th year, offers programming and support for young people in Nablus on the West Bank in Palestine, as well as in the nearby village of Asira Al Shamaliya.  Programs include music, dance, and art, outdoor sports, play, and Palestinian cultural folklore events. PHF has an active Girl Scout Troop, a studio for recording music and oral histories, a skateboard park and playground, and provides free books through street libraries.  PHF has sponsored the Smiling Faces summer camps for decades now, which serve about 500 kids over the summer, including special attention to children with disabilities and cancer.

Newer programs that began during the pandemic include e-learning in West Bank schools, delivering "Boxes of Love" that include items such as blankets, food, books and masks, outreach to hospitalized children with cancer, and new outdoor activities for children called the Green Hand Initiatives that includes gardening, planting olive trees and cultivating young people's attachment to the land.  All ages of women also create traditional embroidery, and elder women and young girls have their own singing groups.

All of these programs are especially important in this moment, when Israeli settlers and the military are blatantly attacking Palestinians, uprooting olive trees, rampaging through the streets, killing people indiscriminately.  PHF has a non-partisan vision for democracy in Palestine, and for the advancement of the Palestinian people.
