Solar Energy for Kololo School

We are seeking support to bring solar energy to one of our rural schools, which will transform the educational experience for our young learners.

Why Solar Energy?

In Kololo, many students lack access to essential educational resources. By installing solar panels at our school, we can provide reliable electricity that will open up a world of learning possibilities. Here’s how solar energy will benefit our students:

1. Enhancing Kindergarten Education

 Educational Videos: With solar power, we can set up a TV to show engaging educational videos. Kindergarten students will learn letters, colors, songs, and more—resources that are currently unavailable in the area. This will give them a strong foundation for their future studies.

2. Introducing Computers to Grade Students

 Basic Computer Knowledge: In today's technology-driven world, it’s crucial for students to have basic computer skills. Unfortunately, none of the students in Kololo have ever touched a computer. With solar energy, we can provide computers for our Grade students, preparing them for the future.

3. Access to Educational Resources

 Weekly Classes via TV/Radio Satellite: The government has developed a weekly scheduled class system via TV satellite/ Radio for Grade students. With solar energy, our students can participate in these lessons, ensuring they compete equally with peers across the country, especially as they prepare for regional exam for grade six and eight and high school exit national exam after couples of years.
 Digital Learning Materials: By using computers, students will have access to helpful books and resources in soft copy format. This will much improve their learning experience and academic performance.

4. Supporting Teachers

 Preparation of Teaching Materials: Our teachers will greatly benefit from having access to computers and printers. They currently rely on paper and pens to prepare teaching aids and lesson plans. With solar energy, they can create and print materials, improving their teaching methods.
