In 2007, both my mother and best-friend were diagnosed and succumb to lung cancer within eighteen months of each other. In supporting each of these remarkable women through their journey, I gained immeasurable memories and experiences. My exposure to the community of woman with lung cancer was intimate, propelling me to serve on the front-line as an advocate for women diagnosed with life-leveling cancers.
If you know a woman who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, you know that it can be as devastating emotionally as it is physically. Often medical and other practitioners do not address the diagnosed women’s issues holistically, setting her emotional, mental, and psychological issues aside. Peace on Patuxent's goal is to provide an accommodation devoid of expectations and demands, a place where "SHE" can decompress and recalibrate while affirming that "SHE" matters, and allowing her to focus on her-self, her-needs and her-journey.
Please support me as I raise money to help Peace on Patuxent provide the services for this community of women. I have made a commitment to raise a minimum of $10,000.00, before December 31, 2022. Your personal contribution will help me reach this goal and support this great organization.
Thanks,
Senita
