In five years, Queer Capita has produced more than 65 industry events in New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville. At each of them, someone has found us afterward to say, "Thank you for creating a space for us."

The music industry runs on relationships, and too many LGBTQ+ professionals still navigate it without a mentor to call, a network that sees them, or a place to bring the questions they can't ask at work. Queer Capita changes that for a community of more than 1,500 professionals.

2027 is our fifth year, and the hardest one yet to fund.

Since 2024, it has become harder for DEI groups and nonprofits to raise money, especially for the programs that don't come with a logo on a step-and-repeat. This Giving Tuesday, we're asking our community to fund the work that changes careers directly. You choose where your gift goes.

Mentorship Program: $12,000

Our mentorship program pairs vetted mentees with music industry mentors for four months. In our pilot, over 85% of mentees said they felt more confident navigating professional circles because of their mentor, and 75% met their mentor in person. In 2027, we'll match 10 mentees in each of our three cities.
$400 sponsors one mentee for the full program.

Weekly Job Board: $4,800

Every week, our team handpicks real, open music industry jobs. We source them through research and referrals, and we never post ghost jobs. It's the most visited part of our website, with a click-through rate above 20%.
About $92 keeps the board running for a week.

Ask Capita: $1,200

Ask Capita is free, anonymous career advice from our Board of Directors, open to anyone at any stage of their career. It has become a lifeline for people facing difficult transitions and questions they can't safely ask anywhere else.
$100 funds a month of answers.

How to give

Click Donate and choose a program from the dropdown, or leave it on "Where It's Needed Most." If a program reaches its goal, additional gifts support our next-highest priority.

Five years ago, this community was an idea. Today, it's a space hundreds of people count on every year. Help us keep making it.

Queer Capita is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-1397185). Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
