15 years after its founding as a volunteer-run mentorship collective in New York City, Queer|Art is now a national, artist-led nonprofit with a thriving creative community for queer and trans artists, serving:

A national mentorship community of over 300 queer and trans artists across film, literature, performance, and visual art
Over 50 artists featured each year through exhibitions, screenings, performances, and readings
An audience of over 5,000 people at live events and online programs
Over $100,000 redistributed annually directly to queer and trans artists

We are working towards an art world that is more just, imaginative, and connected. The dismantling of federal infrastructure, escalating censorship, and mounting threats against LGBTQ+ communities make it clear we must strengthen our networks of interdependence and secure shared space for queer legacies and futures. Guided by our artist community's expressed needs, our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan centers three goals to ensure a sustainable future for Queer|Art:

In order to meet these goals, we're growing our budget from $600K to at least $1.2M over the next 3-5 years—ensuring equitable pay for artists and arts workers while building the infrastructure our community needs.
