About Experimental Quickies

Experimental Quickies was started in November 2025 by Frankie Lord and Bender Kynaston. Lord approached Kynaston with a plan for a play festival thrown together quickly, thinking they’d be able to find trans writers and directors but surely not enough more trans people for the whole thing. Turns out, there’s a LOT of queer theater kids in this town who can wear many hats, and building community amongst them has been an incredible privilege.

About Spectrum Stage

Empire Arts Collective, operating as Spectrum Stage, is a Sacramento-based nonprofit arts organization and public venue dedicated to inclusive, artist-driven, community-centered performing arts. We carve out and protect space for artists and stories often overlooked by traditional institutions, operating as an ongoing creative home rather than a one-off themed event or seasonal spotlight. We’re building a place where performance feels immediate, human, and connected to the people in the room.

Creative joy is a form of community resilience. Our programs offer visibility, belonging, and shared meaning at a time when many marginalized community members are experiencing isolation, forced silence, exclusion, fear, and ongoing social stress.

Empire Arts Collective, doing business as Spectrum Stage, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported by contributions from individuals, businesses, foundations, and public agencies. Ticket purchases are not tax-deductible. Any amount you give above the fair market value of the tickets may be tax-deductible as allowed by law. EIN: 81-2974146
