Story
Welcome to our fundraising page for Pasaporte a la Educación!
During this years' ¿Qué Pasa? Festival, and the month of May, we will be fundraising to support the Virginia Hispanic Foundation’s Pasaporte a la Educación program, which creates pathways for Hispanic youth to graduate high school, pursue college, and enter the workforce.
We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background, and we're working hard to ensure that Hispanic youth in Virginia have the support they need to reach their full potential.
Did you know that In the 2021-22 school year, only 44% of Latino students graduated from Richmond Public Schools, compared with 74.2% of all students?
Unfortunately, Hispanic youth in Virginia face unique challenges that make it difficult for them to succeed in school and in life. They may come from families with limited resources, face language barriers, or struggle to navigate complex educational systems.
That's why our program is so important - we provide targeted support and resources to help Hispanic youth overcome these obstacles and achieve their goals.
Here's a bit about what our program does:
Our goal is to help Hispanic youth in Virginia break the cycle of poverty and build successful futures for themselves and their families. We believe that investing in these young people is an investment in the future of our community, and we hope you'll join us in this important work!
*Your donation will help us provide essential resources to support programs at Huguenot High School, Thomas Dale High School, Salem Church Middle School, Falling Creek Elementary, and JL Francis Elementary.*
Every donation makes a difference, no matter how big or small. With your support, we can create a brighter future for Hispanic youth in Virginia and help them achieve their dreams. Thank you for considering a donation to our program!
